It feeds on the outside of your stomach, working its way in. But not a hunger; a type of sickness that wells in your soul, and spills its bitter realisation over your heart.
Of course the anguish is furnished by the fact that you can do nothing to 'make it right'. You've already done that, and it didn't work. This is no plan B. Just a twisted heap of rusting and sharp iron, corroding in the acidity of your turmoil, where your heart should be.
